Built for how children learn today

Four things you will notice in a classroom

Understanding first

Children are taught to understand ideas, question them, connect them and use them in situations they have not seen before. Marks follow understanding, not the other way round.

Learning by doing

Children run experiments in science, put mathematics to work, build in robotics and make things in the arts.

Room to explore

Labs, studios, courts and a library are part of the school day, so a child can find what excites them.

Personal attention

Teachers watch how each child learns and step in early. At Financial District the average class is 25.

Cambridge education

Cambridge decides what children learn. The school decides how.

Cambridge sets clear learning goals for every stage and tests them against international standards. It does not decide how a classroom feels. That part is ours.

The curriculum

What Cambridge provides

  • Learning objectives for every stage, from Early Years to Grade 10
  • Progression Tests and the Checkpoint external checks at Grades 5 and 8
  • IGCSE exams at the end of Grade 10, graded A* to G
  • AS and A Level in Grades 11 and 12, planned from 2029-30
  • Global Perspectives a subject for research, teamwork and reasoning
The school

What Orchids World School adds

  • The Orchids Teaching Way one classroom approach across the network
  • Labs and studios used in lessons, not only for practicals
  • Teachers trained before they teach Cambridge training for every stage and subject
  • Arts, sport and clubs inside the school day, for every child

Together they make one school day: a clear Cambridge path, taught the Orchids way.

Why Cambridge
Part of the school day

A champion in every child

These programmes are taught during school hours, inside the timetable, for every child in every grade. They are how children find their strengths, not an after-school extra.
